"The Apples of my shower" swingtet blésois This quintet 'gadjé' invites us to travel in its musical universe where gypsy jazz and gypsy waltz mix with swing tedancies... Come on a guided tour with guitars, violin, double bass and concertina... In almost four years of playing together, "the Apples of my Shower" have not only progressed individually, but have also acquired a cohesion, a cohesiveness which is a pleasure to hear... They are unifiers in spirit, and their music is not a revival but a continuity which prolongs the work of Django Reinhardt. - The five 'culpable' actors of the orchestra The Trombino'Swing of the 'Apples' : . . . . .        David                  Pierre            Dominique          Laurent1           Laurent2 - Presentation of the "Apples" under the shower... [...] Dominique Rouquier is obviously himself immersed in the univers very conclusive of the guitar manouche. A mixture of virtuosity in which emerge notes of true melancholy ; the feeling is there: tackle scintillating cascades of beaded notes, appoggiaturas air... To recreate the D.Reinhardt / S.Grappelli tandem, Laurent Zeller is with the violin ! Voluble as in the life its sonority is rich, the precise interventions - clear - neat- lyric, the speech full and leaping, renewed with each measurement... David Rivière is the third virtuoso of the troop. Its accordion keeps with the ear of best accordion music, a kind who's to be fond of Django particularly. Moreover, David composed (amongst other things), a waltz for the whole of their own group. All is clear at his place: of the inspiration to the rhythmic swiftness, play étincelant with dynamics the short ones and whirring plated accords series... Pierre Delaveau balances with enthusiasm and humour the rhythmic base of his found guitar... Lastly, Laurent Delaveau, (he's a chip off the old block!) constitutes the otyer base of this group. Its double bass, "taken very well" on the disc, plays full its melody role, while contributing to sit the implacable rhythmic which, with virtuosity, is the other trademark of the kind... It was a very beautiful concert.
